The number of the cable manufacturing companies is about 370 in Turkey. 120 companies out of 370 are manufactured with the Turkish Standards (TSE) and international standards as well. TSE standards has also already been harmonised with EU standards. However, about 20 of the Turkish manufacturers have ISO 14001 certification, and at least one of TUV, VDE, GOST, SEPRO, HAR IEC, BS, EN and EC certification depending on the needs of markets they supply. The Turkish cable export market is about EU 2 billion of which dominated by 16 leading manufacturers.

Due to global crisis, the sector is expected to be re-structured and dominated by the companies with competitive power and no working capital problems. After the crisis we expect more international players, including electro-outlets in the sector.
