Life is energy! Power generation with environmental care and less emission is a “cash-cow” business all over the world, where our expertise lies in the field of hydroelectical power plants, thermal (coal fired and natural gas combined) power plants, wind power plants and landfill gas projects. Licensing and transferring licenses, and financing the projects are the current popular issues in the market.
The use of renewable technologies for electricity generation is stimulated by improved technology, higher fossil fuel prices, and extension of the tax credits schemes via international agreements and international trading instruments such as Kyoto Protocol, and VER trading etc).
Generation, Distribution and Transmission are separated from each other to set free market rules at the power sector. However, the publicly owned operations are still dominant at the sector. The more privatised area is power generation depending on the models of built-operates of hydro power plants.
Privatisation of power distribution (TEDAS) is also underway. TEDAS sells 107 billions kWh electricity, and derives avarage income of TL 13 billion a year. TEDAS has 20 regional distribution companies of which are separately to be privatised.
We do expect international companies in power generation for feasible power projects as well as for power distribution.
